Welcome to Robia. This Privacy Policy explains how Robia Labs Uganda Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data in compliance with the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

2. Data Collection and Processing

To facilitate our peer-to-peer platform and generate informal credit classifications, we collect the following:

  • Identity Information: Name, contact details, and address details.
  • Unstructured Data: Information you provide to help us assess your creditworthiness.
  • Automated Processing: We utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to extract and analyze unstructured data to generate a credit score. This score helps facilitate trust between peers on the platform.

3. Purpose of Processing

We process your data strictly to:

  • Provide and maintain the Robia platform.
  • Generate informal credit scores using automated analysis.
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer connections (we do not hold or process fiat currency).
  • Comply with Ugandan legal and regulatory requirements.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your generated credit score and profile with prospective peers on the platform to facilitate transactions. We may also disclose data to the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO) or law enforcement if mandated by Ugandan law.

5. Your Rights Under the DPPA (2019)

Under Ugandan law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
  • Prevent processing of your data for direct marketing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO).
